Kids’ Events

Get outside and PLAY! We’re making connections with nature, one child at a time.

With a goal of “education through exploration,” the Garden is dedicated to teaching children of all ages about the natural environment, rules of ecology, sustainability, where food comes from and how to eat healthfully. Our children’s garden was built to work with nature to help conserve water and help plants grow properly. The entire garden is made of edible plants that can be used for medicinal teas, spices or a side dish for dinner.

CCFC_logoIt is with much appreciation that the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden  received a generous grant of $2,000 from the local organization Central Coast Funds for Children (CCFC) on December 17, 2014. The CCFC grant will directly fund outdoor science and arts based children’s education programs by providing class materials and scholarships for at-risk and low income children, effectively doubling the amount of scholarship the Garden offers to the summer Adventure Camp and Garden Fresh Cooking Classes.
