Our two-acre Present Garden is a great place to see the exquisite plant life of the five major mediterranean climate zones of the world which include California, central coastal Chile, the western Cape Province of South Africa, parts of Western and South Australia, and the Mediterranean Basin. Plants from these regions have adapted to the dry summers found there, and these plants are more drought tolerant and conserve precious water resources.
Our garden is open daily during daylight hours; admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted.
The lower pathways are composed of decomposed granite and are designed to be ADA compliant.
Some of the upper pathways are not ADA compliant.
A $3 fee is charged by San Luis Obispo County Parks for parking in El Chorro Regional Park April through September on weekends and holidays.
