This walking tour is for those who attend the “Falcons and Eagles and Vultures” lecture and want to practice their skills. Join Steve Schubert to observe raptors and birds at the SLO Botanical Garden, El Chorro Regional Park, and Dairy Creek Road. Space is limited so sign up quickly.
Wear your hiking shoes as some of the terrain may be uneven. Bring water, snacks, binoculars, and identification references/books and dress for the weather.
There may be an optional walk up the Eagle Rock trail at the end. This trail is moderately strenuous and steep, and you may want to bring your hiking poles. If this part doesn’t appeal, you can continue to practice your raptor ID along Dairy Creek Road.
